Continuing The MissionFoster A Dog

Continuing the Mission’s volunteer Dog Fosters are a valuable piece of our unique birth-to-placement training model. We look for individuals willing to open their hearts and homes to a CTM dog in training between the ages of 6-18 months.

Fosters are responsible for teaching these young dogs house training, confidence in new situations, walking appropriately on a leash, and to be calm in a family environment. This piece of the training program is essential for the socialization and development of CTM dogs. The volunteer Dog Foster opportunity is ideal for those who prefer an older dog and/or have a shorter available commitment.

Our volunteer Fosters may also stand in for Puppy Raisers who are unable to fulfill the entire Puppy Raiser commitment and need to “bridge the gap.”

We provide:
  • A young dog ready to learn and be loved
  • A crate
  • Veterinary care, including heartworm/flea/tick preventatives
  • Training support
Fosters provide:
  • Time
  • Patience
  • Love
